If my boyfriend destroys my house that I own (still paying for) will it be covered by my home insurance? ?

My relationship is turning toxic within what seems like a blink of an eye. I’m feeling trapped and I would like to leave state a while until things blow over but my question is that if my partner destroys my home or whatever will it be covered by my insurance? This is something he has threatened and with the amount of damage that’s already done I’m afraid that I’ll come back with my house burnt down or barely standing. I wish I was exaggerating but sadly I am not. Any advice would be truly appreciated

Read your policy and/or ask your agent. I can understand not wanting to bring this up with your agent, so maybe ask a different agent.

This is a total guess, but I'm guessing it would not be covered. I dropped my homeowner's policy a number of years ago, and I don't remember the wording on things it does or does not cover.

It might make a difference if he is living there or not, which you didn't make clear.

Also, ask neighbors to keep an eye on the place while you are gone. Tell them that nobody should be there without you calling them and letting them know it's OK.

Nope your insurance won't cover you unless you prove that he was never welcome in your home
