What's a breakup like for guys?

My boyfriend and I recently broke up because we felt our relationship was getting colder and colder due to long distance caused by Covid. I think for both of us it's a chance to think rather than an actual breakup although we said goodbye.
My question is how do guys usually feel in the first days after a breakup. What's the process like for you?
I'm trying to understand when he'll get to the missing part or actually thinking about us.

I posted an IG story about my friend passing away today because I wanted information about his funeral and my ex replied to know how I was doing about the death. We talked a bit but then I brought up how I thought the breakup might've been a mistake and he said that the bridges aren't burnt and time will tell us if it was a mistake or not.
We broke up a few days ago.

It's horrible for first two 3 weeks then kinda get used to it and try to move on
