Should I tell my ex that I love him?

My ex and I had an on-and-off again relationship. He would continue to push me away (he explained that it was because he would get scared- mostly of being hurt, mostly because of how he was treated in the past). I always believed he was lying to me when he told me this, but maybe he wasn't. Anyways, we broke up again for this reason and I realize how much I love him. Should I just let him go and say nothing, or tell him I love him? I care so much about this person.

In this case, I would sit him down and have a heart to heart. If he doesn't know this, first make sure you truly WANT this/him (because once you do it, you can't undo it). And if that's yes, then tell him how you feel, BUT, he's also got to tell you how he feels and work on this being hurt in the past, because while that's understandable (and no reason for that to be a lie, so it's probably true), he can't bring that into a new relationship. Every person and relationship is different, and he's sabotaging it by holding on to it. But if there's any chance for this to work, you both have to have an open and honest talk about how you feel about each other. But again make sure you're ready and truly want this.

He has to realize that you're not the other women from his past, and yes trust takes time to build, with anyone, but he also can't not trust you if you don't give him reason not to.

It is very good that you want to fight for relationships that are important to you. However, since he has problems with himself, despite your actions to maintain this relationship, it will always end as before. He, too, must try to keep this relationship working properly.

Stay away from eachother. Theirs a reason he's your ex and it should probably stay that way until he works on his mental state. Move on
