Why did my ex block me?

A man who I was involved with at one time contacted me. This man can't give me what I need or want. I've asked and he cannot. So, he contacts me and wants to offer me not what I want, continuously. I told him that he can't offer me what I want and I was going to try this new relationship and told him I was going to have a great summer. He told me you have a great summer then. I go back to reply thank you. And , I'm blocked.
Please people Why. ?

You basically told him he can't give you what you need and you are getting into another relationship. So... he blocked you and is going to move on.

I accidentally left out a part/ after telling him about the new guy and going to have a great summer he said
" I didn't need to hear all that and have a great summer" I went to say thanks and I was blocked
