Why would my ex block me after I blocked him?

I broke up with him, he moved away, then came back a year after and for the week we had together it went good, until he had to leave again. He doesn't do long distance relationships so that week really wasn't leading to anything

His last day I told him I had to block him for a while in order to move on and he said he understood... a month later he blocked me on everything too and more months later he unliked all posts from my social accounts, which is kinda weird cuz he would have to have went back to each individual picture lol... what is that about?

He might be hurting too. If he wasn't then he probably would not have done anything. He could be hurting from the fact you blocked him or he is trying to move on too. Maybe he wanted to block you first this time to have more control if he unblocks you.. For some reason when you realize you don't have access to a person because they prevented it, it hurts.
