Why do some people cheat if they are already in a relationship?

There have been loads of studies on adulterous behavior or 'cheating' and the insights are fascinating.
One study concluded that it's rarely ever just about 1 thing in the relationship. That it's a snowball effect of reasons that build up overtime. While for others it's the adrenaline rush of doing something "forbidden".
