What to do when you are unhappily married and want to move on with someone you feel happier with?

I've been married for almost 15 years, and we have four beautiful children. I have been unhappy for years but due to financial reasons and only having one vehicle that she uses for work because I work from home and watch the kids while she works out of the house. How would I go about getting out of this relationship that I feel trapped in? Should I tell the woman I am interested in about the situation and get her opinion as well?

So, let me recap.

You are about 30-35, married since you were probably 19 and right away had a succession of children. That means that they are all minors.

Given that you plan to be looking for alternatives if not already have been unfaithful, that means that your spouse is holding golden end of the stick and you the dirty one.

You will pay for alimony and bleed through your nose for quite some time with 4 children still going to school.

Whatever the reason is for your unhappy marriage, you would be better off seeking counseling rather than another woman. That will be much cheaper on the long run for you.

Of course you have to tell the mistress about your situation. If she has an iota of common sense, she will tell you to think twice before acting on this impulsive idea.

She's not a mistress for one but she's a friend I have feelings for and we have not talked about my relationship status or anything in that sort on my end.

Are those feelings reciprocated or is it more of a one-way road?

99% of the time when people are unhappy in their marriage, it is at least partly their own fault. Definitely sounds like the case for you as well. You can get out of this marriage, but you're going to end up unhappy regardless of who you are married to.

Are you cheating on her that’s not good at all never get yourself involved in a relationship when you’re married. You should go to family counseling and work it out
