Ex keeps sending me nasty texts all day?

it was full on toxic for the last remaining 6 weeks but last night he decided to fully call it quits. Blocked me on all social medias but all night and today I’ve received very nasty texts from him (I’ve got my phone settings on so he can’t tell if I’ve read the texts).

it was definitely a mixture of both of us being toxic. I have severe depression which was my main part and I did react in ways I shouldn’t of but he also reacted bad in situations as well so it was even. Towards the end he kept belittling me, name calling etc.

i haven’t responded. He doesn’t even know if I’m actually reading the crap he’s texting me. But why? Will it stop? Is he trying to get me to react? I don’t plan on responding and just ignoring him

He's trying so hard to push you to go down to his level. No matter how hard he tries, be you and avoid getting into a conflict where there's no winner. Keep ignoring him and live your life.

Why not benefit yourself and block him? Sounds like you eventually want to go back to him which doesn’t sound healthy in the slightest. You both don’t respect each other. You need to block him and move on with your life. Tell him that you are officially done and wish him well with his life.

Yes what she said. Maybe send him a last message telling him you are done and would like to be left alone and for him to grow up and move on. And then block him and don’t look back!

Why would you continue to not block him and read the texts? I think you should either get a restraining order if the text are that bad or just block him and spare yourself from reading additional insults.
