I’m putting this in BREAK UP section bc I had to put it in something. Really wish there was a gender neutral behavior section or psychology section or relation (not just relationship) section—- I want to hear from everyone. not everything is gender specific. people can be broken hearted without having been in an official relationship—so what can I put this in 🤷🏻‍♀️

My life is filled with such stories! The last time was with my 2nd girlfriend about 3 years ago, who finally decided that she DID want to be my girlfriend. We tried to make it work but, I think it was just that I just was not IN love with her anymore, as I was the first time we got together 38 years before. So, after a few weeks of trying to make it work, she decided to call it quits. A couple weeks later, we were booth flat broke!! We had a total of about $2.00 in change between us and she picked up some 'stray" cat that she wanted to feed and asked me to give her 58 cents for cat food!! I'm living off the loose change I find at the drive-thru windows at the mall and you want ME to worry about feeding a fucking stray cat? Most likely, that cat has a number of other people feeding it and, even if it doesn't, it can always find a mouse or something to kill and eat!! She got pissed at me for not giving her the money I didn't have to spare and I walked out and went home! Eventually, we would've probably made up and become good friends again but she drove the nail in to the hilt by calling me up and leaving me a really nasty message on the phone calling me every name in the book and, with that, I figured, I've had enough of this shit!! THIS is supposed to be my BEST FRIEND talking to me like this? I'm at the lowest point in my entire life and she's gonna call me those names? FUCK HER!!! The next day, she called and left an apologetic message on my machine but I'd had enough!! I'm DONE with her!! About 2 years later, I decided to send her a b-day card. No response at all!! A few months ago, she saw some of the comments I left on videos of my band on YT and wrote another snarky message to me claiming I was acting like I'm Mr. Wonderful, the star of the band!! Rather than feel pissed off, I left a very calm response to her comment just pointing out that I NEVER thought I was the star of the band!
Before her, I spent 10 years with a girl that I would've happily married and was planning to spend the rest of my life with!! Then, one day, I discovered that she'd been cheating on me for a good while!!! I dropped her chubby ass like a bad habit and never looked back!! SHE kept trying to be friends with me after that but, she proved that I could no longer trust her (lying to me, stealing from me, and then cheating on me!!) so, I wanted nothing more to do with her!! I don't want to be around people I can't trust!!
About a year later, SHE left HIM!! So, she wasted 10 years of MY life to spend a year or 2 with him!! I HAD other offers and I turned them all down because I was in love with HER!!

First girl I ever dated I met online. Long story short she cheated on me claiming she was just having other guys over to watch movies with and then she broke up with me claiming I was too depressing.

Second girl I met in high school cheated on me with another girl 😑 and I eventually broke up with her because I was unhappy.

Third girl i also met in high school I gave a chance to but only felt like we were friends. Broke up with her after Valentine’s Day and felt horrible doing so but it was extremely freeing to do.

Fourth girl I met online. I ended up going to college in her area 3 hours away from my parents by car. She cheated on me flat out. When I found out and confronted her she blamed me for her having cheated. I ended up getting back with her for a week because the guy she left me for ended up in jail but when he got out she wanted to get back with him “in a heartbeat.”

Kept getting ignored, ghosted, etc until I became friends with this girl who king story short falsely accused me of stalking. Had to take her to court to change the ex parte PPO she slapped on me. She had even attempted to hire my lawyer. My lawyer was able to convince her and her lawyer to change the ex parte PPO to a temporary civil restraining order which eventually died off because I never did anything she claimed.

After all of that bullshit I swore off dating and love completely. Developed a strong resentment towards women. Started looking into politics. I continue to see a therapist/counselor. According to him I’m living my best life. It’s been almost 8 years sense my last ex and I think almost 5 years sense the false accusation.

Its a classic story lol.

This girl I had known forever (since 2nd grade) and I slowly realized we were into eachother. At the end of our first "date", we never used the word, we were hugging goodbye and she asked me out officially. Said it just slipped out lol. I said yes of course.

So we were officially together. She was an AMAZING kisser. She was also a virgin as well so I knew I was gonna have to be patient. I didn't mind at all though.

We never really said the "L" word outloud but we whispered it a number of times.

I was just so giddy around her and it was hard to breathe when we were together.

Welp fast-forward a year and a few months and she's off at college. Imagine my surprise when she calls me to confess she messed around with someone else. Yeah.

It hurt a lot for sure and I was pretty salty for a while. I mean its frustrating when you're so patient with someone and then that happens. But such is life. Obviously I called it quits with her after that and I haven't seen her since.

I suppose that counts as the only time I was In love with someone. Dodged a bullet though cause she's a vegetarian and our politics diverged hardcore after we split lol

My wife, I love her so much. That we are doing our 30th wedding anniversary as a wedding renewal of vows

I even got her a new ring and we are doing a Hippie/Disco theme wedding... Right down to real clothes from that time period

Well she is making her dress and I have the super wide bell bottom jeans that even hide my disco boots (platform GoGo Boots made in the 1970s) and I have my large diamond collar polyester long sleeve shirt. Plus I am still on the hunt for a leather Vest with lots of fringe

I have a nightmare of a story.

When I was twelve, I saw a girl that (whom?) I was crazy about. Only for 6 hrs., but I remembered her for 30 years. Fast forward to 5 years ago: She started working at a store that I occasionally go to.

I learned she was married, so I ignored her, until last year when I approached her... Long story tragic, when I expressed my feelings (romantic, non-sexual) she became agitated and now won't so much as look at me. I was open to rejection and possible platonic friendship. Now all I feel from her is abject hate. Did not expect such a extreme and somewhat childish response from her.
