I want to get back with my ex but my parents hate him now, is this a good idea?

If it’s outrageously unreasonable or superficial, you could ignore their opinions, but if it’s reasonable and valid, you might want to take their input on this one.

If you’re planning to get back together, it’s best you have a chat with him about this. It would be mentally exhausting and may put a strain on your relationship if he was constantly trying to win over your parents and their approval.

Either way, you are an adult. Do whatever you think would be the best for you.

They think that he's abusive because we were riding around one day and I had told him that I was driving by his house (we hadn't seen each other in 2 weeks) and he had replied in text with "why tf are you by my house I told you I would text you when I was ready." I told them that we always called each other bitch as a joke.. but they just think that he's abusive.

Not a good idea. I’ve learned that my parent has always been right when it comes to my choice of men. Trust your mom especially, she’s wiser than you and knows what she’s talking about. She can see what you don’t see.
