What would make you decide to breakup with a girlfriend?

Aside from cheating, physical abuse, or anything severe and obvious.

Im scared of breaking up with my boyfriend. It happened one time and it didn't go well. He’s short tempered and used to violence, and i get scared when he’s angry especially when its at me. Not long after he would have a completely different mood, calmed down and would apologize a million times. Im sick of it. I decided ill make him leave me for good but i dont know how to do that. He’s too attached (i am too, but ill be okay not having him in my life because i know its right for me).

I read one time that i should stop being intimate with him and be distant when he’s around. The thing is i do love him. When things are good, we’re all over each other and have a lot of good sex. I forget about all the toxicity in the relationship. He’s really good at making it up to me after he’s hurt me (emotionally/mentally).

You sound like you have legitimate safety concerns both physical and emotionally. It is clear that you would be better off with a more calmed and caring man. I would not even know how to get around a guy this volatile without setting him off in some kind of way. Be as safe as you can but I really don't know since "no" and "NO!!!" has the same effect on him. You are coming out fighting off Valentine's Day so you must be serious !!

Probably if I feel like your actively chasing other guys. At that point its past break up for me I'm gonna just pack up and leave. If I'm on the tab for the rest of lease I'll just stick it in a evenlope and leave it in the TV room and just dip.

And the second thing is if my girlfriend is failing to communicate out of fear that I'd get mad over what she says. That to me is just cowardly and completely disrespectful as its a complete lack of trust. And yeah I wouldn't try to stick through that either. As its like massive red flags. As I wouldn't know what is true from false anymore. You've pretty much become a walking, talking liability.
