My boyfriend broke up with me on March 15th. He said his reason was because he felt that we were on "different life paths" and that he would like a girlfriend who is a programmer like himself.
I'm trying to wrap my head around the situation and figure out why as I feel that the programming can't be the only reason. Our mutual friend told me when she talked with him that there may have been other reasons, but he didn't want to tell her out of fear that it would get back to me and he wants to keep me in his life. Our friend and his life coach said that the decision was really hard for him to do and that he is really heartbroken. Our friend said that he seems to hope that I would wait for him so we could get back together eventually.
What would be reasons why you would break up with someone that you love?
She also said that he didn't exactly say that he expected me to wait. Just that he wanted to stay in contact.
