Why do people resort to cheating instead of ending their relationship?

Clearly they don't care about their partner so why just not leave them and get with the other person? If there are kids involved I can still see why they stick around even though they still shouldn't cause the kids have to still suffer I know that very well cause my own parents have had a horrible marriage and the only reason they are still in it is because of us kids but we know how unhappy things our in our household it would have been better for my parents as well if they would have just gotten divorced.

I can honestly say that I have never cheated in my life, but having known people and been a shoulder to cry on many times. The sense I get, it's not because it's more logical to break up or end a relationship per say your question. It's just that no one prefers to be yelled at, screamed at, patronized, talked down too, or have drama in their life. I hated when my ex would nag, bitch or complain over petty stupid shit. Just imagine bein bitched at for breakin up with em for some one else.

That's a 100% defacto chance of startin a bunch of yellin and screamin.

There's a slim chance of getting away with it, in the thought process, I know that may piss a lot of people off but bear with me on this. Even my own ex used to complain about the dumbest shit, I was bein yelled at for puttin Tupperware on the stove while the "ovens hot light" was on, I literally put my hand on the oven coils to prove to her it wasn't that hot and it just pissed her off more for some reason.

Unless your that odd person that enjoys soap operas, which i also dont get it just boggles my mind how some people can make mountains outta mole hills, than when something extremely serious happens, aka bein cheated on. Wonder why the other person went way out of there way to avoid it by, lying, or dodgeing them.

As far as cheating goes, it's just easier to try to take the chance to dodge it all the way around and hope no one notices, "(on a logical level, not emotional)".

I would compare it as the same mentality of gambling, if there's a chance you can get away with it without it causing a problem then why not go for it. I don't personally condone the behavior and find it to be hanus, but i do get the logic behind it.

Just because u don't agree with a behavior doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to understand why a person does it.

Mostly because of insecurity, selfishness, and immaturity. People want connection and closeness but do not want to lose what they have until they know the other is stable or established. It is nothing but selfishness and unfortunately you will see the same type of interaction across all dimensions in their life. It is troubling.

There's fear of loneliness because the person they cheat with may not want to be together, but the person they are cheating on is still living together, so they don't want to break that stability. I had this fear when I was a teenager and unfortunately I cheated on my partner that time

That makes no sense, cheating causes instablity in the current relationship, and it makes the new person worry you will cheat on them too, so they won't want to keep you either.
