How does a breakup work when you are still living together?

Like one of the reasons we broke up is her controlling nature but the thing is we now sleep in separate rooms and live independent lives but she will find things to come at me about and I will respond this is exactly how I lived when I was single and you won’t impose on it such as certain morning routines

a roomate is going to impose living routines as you work things out... you aren't living alone... you have to cooperate.

Ok her living routine is the apartment constantly smelling like urine and poop because she lets her puppy poop and pee everywhere

yea, that's not ok, but a puppy is a baby and they do that. that was part of the agreement to get a puppy. It's a task to manage and train the puppy and takes time, which you probably both accepted when it started and are together in same place. So have to find mutual solution. you didn't mention the couch and shoes that are going to get shredded.

No this is her puppy that she had agreed to get I said it was a horrible decision for what is occurring right now

ok. people make their own decisions and she wants someone to love, or whatever her reason is. Puppies are a ton of work... like a baby. call it maternal instinct.
so you'll have to think of this situation differently and come up with a way to care, help or cooperate, or it will be stressful. I wouldn't want to be in your shoes, but hopefully you can find a way to be a good person. puppies should be joyful, life should be joyful. there's no need for all the stress.
or you need to depart this place if you can't.
In general, what you believe, what you think defines how you feel.

I'm sure its hard, but It could be worse. maybe start your day by being thankful, gratitude and end that way... and go from there?
