Can it work out?

Has anyone ever gotten back with an Ex and had it all work out.

If so please tell me your story, I’m very curious.

Depends on your definition of "gotten back together".

If you're going with the classic definition of rekindled the relationship, then no. It has not worked out for me despite my best efforts. Usually people break up for a reason, and that reason is usually straight up incompatibility.

If, however, you can define getting back together as hooking up, then that can work as long as the emotional aspect is clearly separated. I've been with people I wasn't romantically compatible with, but very sexually compatible.

i don't think i'd ever be dumb enough to get back with someone who i broke up with or who broke up with me. what's the point?

I think a lot depends on why it didn’t work.

if it was because of arguing, needed space to grow, weren’t sure about things, etc., I think those can definitely work out.

if it was due to cheating, lying, etc., I would imagine that is near impossible to reconcile.
