Do you have good or bad memories of your ex? Does your ex say good things about you or spread false rumours?

I broke up with my girlfriend about a year ago. It was mutually agreed upon. Neither of us have anything bad to say about the other. I think she's the best person I have ever known. Even though things are not as pretty as it used to be, maybe it was the breakup, maybe something else, she never said anything ill about me to anyone. Nor did I. Instead others said so many things about her, that she doesn't deserve me, she didn't love me to begin with. I've always defended her. (I don't know if that was the right thing to do or not. What's your opinion about me?)

My ex and I had an emotional nuclear war that divided and pushed away most of our mutual friends.

8 years later

She has her life - married to the guy she cheated on me with and now has 3 kids.

I have my life.

The flashbacks are not as common or as potent but the intrusive thoughts about her are still annoying asf.
