Long Distance on a break?

Out of nowhere, my girlfriend of 1 year called me crying and couldn't handle the long distance anymore. We have been long-distance for 2 summers but go to the same college, so during the year, it is okay.

Last summer went great, and this summer had been going well until it suddenly changed. I tried to assure her that everything would work out; however, she said she couldn't handle it.

While things ended with us going on a "break," I would appreciate any advice from anyone out there.

It's not uncommon for long-distance relationships to face challenges and obstacles that can put a strain on the relationship. If your girlfriend feels overwhelmed by the distance between you two and needs some time and space to process her feelings and thoughts, try to be understanding and supportive of her decision to take a break.

While on the "break", it can be helpful for you to take some time for yourself to reflect and process your feelings as well. Try to focus on yourself rather than worrying about her decision. And if things don't work out in the end, know that it will be alright.

Don't bug her, sit tight she will be back. As a female we have our ups and downs especially when we see a couple together out on a date together or a movie we decide to stupidly watch turns out to be a romantic tear jerker. Give her a bit of space and tell her that you there and ready when she wants to talk about why she feels she can't handle it. You will get more clarification and hopefully be able to work through the issue together. LDRs require a lot of communication, trust and compromise to work. Just remember to make her feel loved, her feelings are important and that she is a priority to you at all times.

I would predict that it's over. She was crying so you would agree to a break, now she'll start dating somebody else, and next you're history. Maybe not, but I think this is the most likely outcome.

Id give her the space she needs but id make sure the break doesn't last long and make it clear to her what a break means for both of you. Is she gonna be meeting guys? Etc
