How to cope with heartache?

What is some advice for coping with heartache? Some tips? The guy I was seeing recently told me he wants to slow down and doesn’t want a girlfriend, after telling me he loved me. I’m having a really hard time coping with such a sudden change of heart, even though we weren’t seeing each-other very long.

Here are some tips for coping with heartache, luv:

- Let yourself feel sad. Crying or venting to friends can help get those emotions out in a healthy way. Don't bottle it up.

- Keep busy. Throw yourself into your hobbies, sports, homework - anything to keep your mind occupied so you're not dwelling on it.

- Eat comfort foods and treat yourself nicely. Take care of your physical and mental health during this time.

- Remember it's not a reflection on you. Sometimes people just aren't ready for a relationship and that's on them, not you. You'll find someone better suited when the time is right.

- Limit communication if you need space. Taking a break from talking to them can help separation and moving on.

- Lean on your crew. Spend extra time with close pals who can lift your spirits and remind you of your awesomeness.

- Be kind to yourself. This stuff always feels horrible at first, but it does get easier with time. You'll bounce back, bro!

It'll suck for a bit but you'll get through it. Don't be too hard on yourself as you heal. You got this!

No problem luv, you’re beautiful ya hear? I hope some of that helps! Keeping busy is key, those times alone are when your mind starts wandering. Hit up some friends to hang or try a new hobby, something creative could be cool too like art or music. Just do you and have fun with it, soon you'll forget about that dude. And if you ever need someone to talk or vent to, hmu! We've all been there, it does get better I promise. Just learn what you can from this and don't be too hard on yourself. You'll bounce back for sure!

😔 it happens. He is just not that into you. And please if you need, remember God doesn't want us to love anyone more than Him. Be grateful to God, go to Church, talk to people. Remember if your heart is pure only a purer heart can take place in it

Put the past in the past and the present in the present. If it hasn’t been that long for talking to him then I honestly don’t know how genuine he was about saying he loved you, but that’s either here nor there so I wouldn’t focus on that aspect too much.
At this juncture in time he wants to take a step back, so rather than rehashing what led to this conclusion just accept it so you can close that door. If I were you I would back off completely, because I’m not going to put myself through the emotional wringer that is the waiting game. You’re much more valuable than that and if can’t see it then that’s his loss.

It definitely is now that you know where he stands. I’m sorry he said all those things to you but dwelling over his words won’t change the actions. Unfortunately your feelings for him won’t go away overnight but if you cut him off and give yourself some real room to get over the guy I swear it will take like a couple weeks since you haven’t been dealing with him that long in the first place. I’d also say that with the next guy you date, try not to dive in too quickly, I’d say at least the first 2 months just be cautious, don’t fall into all the feelings yet and give yourself some real time to learn if he’s genuine or not. I’ve been in both lanes, moving too fast and taking my time and I will always pick the second.

Well, be glad he told you now instead of letting anymore time pass & letting you growing more attached. I know it hurts so much though but tbh it is better he was honest. How you cope? Well, you accept his decision and disassemble the romanticized potential fantasy you were associating to him and you either take the time to let him go/really expel him from your focus orrr just start swiping for someone new.
Its that classic saying: get over someone by getting under someone.
That doesn’t always work for some but it def works for others.
