Have you ever had a break up where you fought over who got to keep the pets you got together?

How did you resolve it? Are you sharing "pet custody," did you just let them have your pet (s) eventually, or did you fight tooth and nail until you won "sole custody" of the pet(s)?

We didn’t fight, but we had to split two cats. Luckily, the one cat used to beat the shit out of the other cat, he was basically his prison bitch, lmfao. Like he’d legit pin him down when he was sleeping under a blanket and just start dry humping him💀💀💀 So she took the older one, and I got the bitch, lmao. I did end up with the other one for a little bit because she couldn’t have cats at one place, but she took him back. I was really mad though, because she had a baby a couple years later, and I guess the cat kind of freaked out, started pissing all over the house, etc, and she gave it to a shelter, without even talking to me. I definitely would’ve taken him back. Worked out better for the other little guy, though, who was my best buddy for 19 years til he passed in 2019. RIP🙏

No, when we divorced, we had an elderly female dog. Since my ex-wife is the one who had always taken care of her the most, it was obvious that she would go with her. The dog passed away just a year later, age 13.

I know somebody who divorced and it was mutually agreed the one who made more money and had more stable employment would keep the pets. The person denied pet access wanted it that way because he did not want that burden of caring for two pets when he had to pay rent and hire a divorce attorney and work out his new budgeting plan as a single person with half custody of their kids on weekends or holidays.

I didn’t fight it. I didn’t want to have a dog initially but my ex convinced me. After we broke up I didn’t want to have the responsibility of a dog anymore besides she likes to squeak and won’t stop until she gets attention which give me a lot of anxiety and stress. So I let him keep her

Hypothetically speaking the little girl wouldn’t have a say because obviously whoever adopted said feline specimens would possess the right to keep them, and shall. Although, of her cat ditched her washed ass and came back to me since I’m simply amazing like the Milky Way then I’d ebulliently allow them to move in permanently.

No. But I had a ladyfriend who's marriage ended and neither of them would take the pet so they both abandoned it.

That really pissed me off when I found this out. I'm sorry they don't love eachother anymore. But don't take that 💩 out on a defenseless animal.

I have not thankfully. And the pets show the stress as well. They know what's going on... and they try to be therapists at times...
