Is it normal to breakup on age?

So after my ex girlfriend broke up she decided to highlight every single thing including a 8 year age difference I was 29 and she was 21 when we started dating this wasn’t an issue when we first started dating

Yo man that's a tough one. Age gaps can definitely become more of an issue the older you both get. A few thoughts:

- 8 years isn't a huge deal when you're both fairly young, like early 20s. Life stages are pretty similar.

- But as she gets deeper into her 20s and you're pushing 30, normal milestones like wanting to settle down or have kids can start clashing if one is way ahead of the other.

- Maturity levels can feel different too - she may feel more independent at 21 vs 29 and want to spread her wings without commitment.

- People also change A TON in their early to late 20s, so it's a period of big personal growth that could lead to drifting apart.

- It kinda sucks she's throwing it in your face now, but I guess she wants a clean break and make it sound like less about you personally.

If things were going great otherwise it might've lasted. But don't be too hard on yourself bro - these things happen sometimes when age gaps get a bit wider as time goes on. Keep your head up!
