I'm not fully sure myself but what tends to help me is I don't put worth in other people. I also don't start liking someone I am just talking to. So if they leave or go for someone else it doesn't matter because I didn't actually care about them. It's the easiest way to go through life and not let others make you feel bad especially in this fickle generation.
