Neighbor recently divorced her husband and the new man she was cheating with literally just took the guy's life and everything he built and boasts about it. Its a messed up world. Meanwhile the ex husband in a motel 6 trying to survive after being left penniless. The father doesn't get to see his kids and the kids hate the step dad and their mother for what was done to their Dad.
Just buy your own land and own house in your own name and clear all debts on it before committing to anyone seriously and never put her on the deed. If you are in an equitable property state, it will be considered separate property. You keep it and all income coming from it. When she gets miffed and tries to kick you out of your own home by calling the cops, just say to the cops "I own the home in entirety, she is not on the deed, she use to live here but I told her to leave and she refused. No trespassing signs are visibly posted. I'd like to press charges".
That is a disgrace and these memes sum up modern marriage and divorce and modern women. Us men can make sure we do not allow these women to do this to us. Feminism is man hating simple as that. I am all for pre nups and fathers having automatic rights to their child. But i advise men to never get married. Here in the UK the Father has no actual right to have his name on the birth certificate unless the Mother consents to it.

@Juxtapose big kids make even bigger messes then little kids. Sure they can help clean but those kids still have schooling and other things to get done so it's not always a option for them to be cleaning
Oh don't tell me that I know otherwise! My parents were divorced and they had very different parenting styles. My dad would make sure that as soon as my little sister and I would get home, before we would be allowed to do anything fun, we would have to do our chores. We would also have to clean up after ourselves if we did something like cook. And we were only allowed to sit in front of a screen for 2 hours every day and for every hour we would have to stop and then read for another hour.
Hell even when I had company over at my dad's he would make my company help clean. His home is worth over a million dollars and has multiple stories.
@Juxtapose I make my kiddos clean up after themselves but ain't no way do they have time to be cleaning like a adult. Maybe for like older teenagers but even most them have school/jobs/activities
@Juxtapose with any age of childern I don't see a house staying clean even after its cleaned. Unless it's untouched or something but still everyone is wearing clothes or eating. Which is just gonna lead to more laundry and messes. Those things are never ending chores
That's why I am looking for a God fearing husband. I am not from USA where men lose their wealth because of the marriage. But I will advise anyone to have sign up some papers work before you get married to protect your wealth in case there's a divorce in future.

Bad divorce attorney. The agreement should have an automatic termination of alimony / spousal support if the recipient gets remarried or cohabits with another. Child support is separate issue.
Of course, a return everywhere to "at-fault" could solve this. Currently where I live (California) the cheater gets half of everything including retirement accounts and possible spousal support/alimony. The cheater should get his/her clothing, visitation of the children not physical custody, and nothing else.

OK, "not all women are like that", and I even would concede that most women are not like that, but the legal system and social order is such that all women *can be* like that. And until that changes, we men should opt out.
This is why you don't marry them. In my country, a court decided men were married after two years of cohabitation. So you need to kick them out before then if you want to keep all your own assets.

@Curmudgeon. Unlike US, in our constitution marriage is a federal responsibility. What did happen was that a court granted leave to apply for defacto couples.

@BetaBucks It s called spousal support instead of alimony. It is fortunately relatively rare and of fixed duration. I have never heard of child support being paid for children from another marriage though I wouldn't be surprised if it could. If a wife gets pregnant to another man than yes.
It seems easier in Australia to get DNA tests ordered and your name removed from birth certificates.
A man did sue his wife for paternity fraud and was successful in his claim. On appeal the wife won because the court found it would be injurious to the children if she had to pay the money back to her ex husband. The female judge had cheated on her own husband, so no surprise perhaps.
It was in either the UK or Canada but a man was sued by a women he didn't cohabit with and who had her own house. She had asked to be married, so the court gave her family rights.
You really do have to be mindful that a judge might make a decision really on the basis that it benefits the woman in 20 years time.
Recently a prenup was set aside as being unconscionable. Really as a prenup limits divorce claims and as the usual position is no prenup then no marriage than all prenups are probably unconscionable.
@Curmudgeon It is an advantage of US federalism you can find a state that suits you. It was possibly a line ball decision as to whether marriage laws were a state or federal power n our system since marriage was marriage.
I am very curious about this. In the US a couple could marry in one state, live in other states, and divorce in yet another. If a different state has better divorce laws for me, can I relocate, live there a day and slap in my divorce papers? Can she counter divorce me in another state?

So if my wife has cheated on me and i have to get rid of the bitch why wouldn't I take take a lease on a property in a favorable state and say "Honey I have to go to XX next week". She probably says "Fine" thinking 'great he'll be out of the way'. And slap in those divorce papers.

Welcome to America! I learned that when I tried to divorce my wife for the sake of my sanity and daughter. Courts give women everything. It's a shame to have to live like this. I want out but at the cost of my child? Money comes and goes. Kids are supposed to as I believed your's unless I'm a criminal.

Actually a man who has a four year college degree and a body count of one is only 1% less likely to get divorced compared to a man without a 4-year college degree and a body count of one. So if he's desperate for that 1% then that would be a good idea, but really it doesn't matter.

He never backed down. He recently won a court case & he told the governor to suck his D. He never backed down. Never gave up. They used to have a saying, "death before dishonor".
