The bible says not to get back together with somebody you broke up with if you had a replacement lover after the break up happened.

I watched a tv series where people rekindled relationships with their ex boyfriend or ex-girlfriend and about 100% of the second chance relationships ended in failure, most were toxic before failing and did not fall apart out of mere location or logistical strains.

Where exactly does the Bible say that? In 40 years studying it that's not something I've come across. The opposite, in fact.

Hosea was told to marry a prostitute and take her back every time she left and then came back as an example of what God Himself does when His people walk away from Him then repent and come back - even though He knows they'll do it again.
