Ex wants me to visit him, why?

I dated a guy for a year. We broke up after he made it clear we had cultural differences he didn't feel could be bridged. He insisted on being friends and set firm boundaries around no cuddling, kissing etc. Initially, I tried to stay close but he moved recently and I began no contact and started working on myself. He reached out recently and asked when I'd come to visit. To me.. going to visit an ex who lives far away isn't just a friend activity, am I wrong? What are his motives if he's saying he's clear about the friendship but reaching out if I give space?

I have to be honest. This guy broke it off for a silly reason in the first place. He should've fought for your relationship, if he really wanted to. Maybe he had a side chick and that didn't work out, so the easiest sex he can get for now is from.. you.

If he's really genuine, he should be the one making the effort. Not you going to him. He thinks you are easy and is willing to visit him, without him putting on some work.

yeah i do think it's weird to visit ex's unless something is going on like a booty call or something. i'd say no thank you, this friendship is not working out and you are making me feel like there's something more to this
