Does he deserve a goodbye message a closer?

I have been dating a guy all was great and then after three months he ghosted me for like a month. I sent him a text that time saying its over, but then he came back explaining he was going through sth tough didn't say what it is and asked for a second chance
I know i maybe stupid for giving him that chance but anyway things went great for like 4 months and we became official and started to plan for the future together and he said how he is lucky to have me and would not do anything to lose me, anyway past three weeks he started to change, i barley saw him that time or even calls were for like one minute a day and so on, i asked for an explanation or is there anything wrong in his life going on and each time i tried to talk to him we end up fighting, the blame on me and that I am overthinking.
My birthday was last week I talked to him about going out on that day not mentioning it was my bday and he kept saying yes will go out and in the end he cancelled saying he has visitors.
I told him thats fine goodbye and he said why are you like this
I told him its my birthday and i am going out to celebrate with my friends i don't want any fighting on this day
He didn't even say happy birthday and ended up placing blame on me that i have changed. I know this is toxic and he tried to call me but i didn't answer.
I don't want to talk to him anymore and i just feel like he doesn't deserve a clarification or letting him know we are over, i don't think he cares.
Do i text him or just leave it, ignore him and no contact at all
