She Broke Up with Me and Now Wants to Be Friends—What’s Going On?

I'm over it now, but I'm curious—what does it mean when she does this? She was my first girlfriend and a really nice girl. I was always there for her, sat next to her in class, and communicated clearly. Then, out of nowhere, she sends a long paragraph saying she's not interested anymore, blocks me, then unblocks to apologize, and blocks me again. She seemed happy without me, even though she said she felt bad about us not working out. Maybe it was my fault for not texting enough; she wanted us to talk more, but I was busy and used games to de-stress. A year later, she messages me, apologizes again, says she's been thinking about me, and sends a friend request. Her apology didn't seem sincere, but maybe she doesn't want to be vulnerable? Why reach out after all this time? Does she still like me, or what?

Sorry if all this sounds off, I had some help. Can't write properly bc I'm a bit high rn

TL;DR:
My ex-girlfriend broke up with me suddenly, blocked and unblocked me, and seemed happy without me. A year later, she reached out, apologized, and sent me a friend request. Does she still have feelings for me, or is it something else?
