Is she trying to be friends again?

I was friends with a girl close to my age for 18 years and my dad was her dad’s best friend and my mom was her mom’s best friend. When I was 26 my friend ghosted me without speaking or explaining herself. And this month, her mother has got in touch with our family twice and she is planning to visit us soon to collect some vegetable seeds but when you consider how much gas costs to travel the full distance to our house, it exceeds the cost of the seeds she is receiving from us. I think she might be interested in being friends with us again, but her dad has been angry at my dad for 5 years because my dad did not go to his daughters wedding after their daughter told us that I’m not invited, only my parents were.

Definitely a strange set of circumstances. I’d say yes that she’s trying to be friends again. Or at least smooth things over and get closure.


No other explanation makes sense. As you said, the drive costs more than it’s worth. No rational person would do that without a larger purpose.


I guess another possibility is that it’s just irrational behavior.
