Is it normal for an ex to want to hang out shortly after a break up?

My ex broke up with me 3 weeks ago after dating for nearly a year. We were LDR but he broke up with me after a conversation about moving in together and him not being ready, despite saying otherwise prior to that.

Since then he’s told me he didn’t want to get back together and we didn’t speak and had each other blocked for about a week.

We’re both gamers and are in a mutual friends Discord server. Last night they were running some raids and I asked a question in the chat, a conversation he wasn’t a part of. He replied to my question and then offered to run the raid with me and the others. Breaking our no contact. He jumped in the call on his way home from the gym, narrating his whole drive home and making it very obvious he didn’t want us to start without him.

During the raids, he unblocked and readded me on social media. What gives?

He missed you or he just wants to be with you and regretted his choice!

Maybe had another girl he wanted to see and it did not work out?

Something changed people don't change their minds. Also he probably still wants friends with benefits.

We live on opposite sides of the country, they’re are no benefits unless we’re together in person and he knows I don’t do casual. I’m a relationship type of person only.

Definitely don’t think there’s another woman either. His friends and family have stayed in touch because they really like me and hope we get back together. They’ve said he’s just buried himself into work and the gym and won’t talk about the break up with anyone. If he’s not at work or the gym he’s been at home.

Wow sounds almost like my situation except he doesn't want to see me in person at least not yet but he is calling me more and more and I think if we weren't long distance he would be wanting to see me too but with that being said I think he misses you and wants to see you.
