Why won’t my ex pick up his stuff?

My ex and I have been broken up for several months, we haven’t seen each other since. We did no contact for a while, then slowly have communicated a little here and there. We agreed to be “friends” of some sort. He asks me if I’m with anyone else as if it’s his business. I have reached out on multiple different occasions asking him when we would be able to briefly meet up so he can grab his stuff. My house is not a storage facility and I’m starting to get annoyed seeing it all the time. Last week we made a set date for him to come grab everything and the day of he flaked, no text, nothing. This is not the first time he has done this and I do not understand what his problem is. I went out of my way to nicely pack everything for him, and he goes ghost every time he’s supposed to come get it. I’m extremely frustrated and am 2 seconds away to throwing it on the curb. Why do ex’s do this? I genuinely want it out of my house and don’t mind facing him if he will come grab it. I’ve tried being nice and giving him the opportunity. Is he playing mind games or what is going on?

I would find out what you can legally do many times there is a time limit, you can just tell him hey this isn’t a storage facility and with all respect I want to still be your friend but if this isn’t gone by X amount of time, I’m doing this with it.

He’s you’re ex and you’re not obligated to put up with his bullshit anymore if he wants to play games then he can fuck off and kiss his shit goodbye. It’s in your house so him leaving it there and refusing to get it could be considered abandonment. So you legally may be able to just keep what you want and throw the rest of the shit away. I would seek legal advice before doing that.

But yeah, he had his chance. If something came up and he couldn’t come that’s one thing but to flake and not contact. Like I said, he may be playing games but at the end of the day you’re not any longer obligated to deal with his bullshit.

When you agreed to become friends, that was the beginning of mind games. You're not obligated to engage in back and forth arguments with that guy. Send him a picture of his stuff in the trash, and he'll come running like a dog to pick up what's left.
If he wants to play games, show him what you got.

I tried to be nice despite of what he’s done to me but he keeps wanting to push me to the edge doing shit like this when we planned to have a public meet up for his belongings. He gives me no choice but to be an asshole now

Who cares? If you've already boxed it, just put it on the curb the day before trash is collected and send him a message letting him know where it is and how long he has to get it before it's picked up by the garbage collectors.
