Should I go to an ex friends funeral her husband doesn't want any of us ex friends there but her family said we definitely should come?

I don't know what I did. I am sure it was my fault. I have several ideas what I did but never found out exactly what happened from her. I have received second hand information from people who vaguely know of said situation or had a similar situation happen. I have apologized for what I thought I did but never heard from her again.

I am not the only person who this happened to. At least 7 of us were dumped in the last year or two. The same way. Via text message.

We received several weird heavy breathing screaming calls that sounded like a man. From her phone number. Telling us she hates us and to stay away. I asked why can't I hear that from her and they never called back. About nine months after the last call someone texted saying that the phone number had been changed.

Her husband threatened us when we tried to see her on her birthday. And would not let us see her. She sent us card saying thanks for seeing her in her handwriting.

She did have mental health issues. Her family wants us to come. I do have a lot of good memories. i am sorry at how it ended.

As long as you don't really know what happened and why you and your friends have been "banned", I would would probably not go.

A husband's wishes take precedence over the ones of the family since he is the one that she lived with and not so much the rest of the family.

You can always go to the grave later when the husband is not there. He cannot prevent you or forbid you to go to her grave. This way, you avoid a potential conflict but you still show your friend your respect at a later date. You and your friends can go together as you can support each other emotionally.

her husband sounds like a creep and let me tell you this he should not dictate your life choices he can go to freaking hell as far as i care you should definitely go her husband sounds like he wants to control everyone in her life even after her death and truthfully you need to understand he can't do squat about it. furthermore this man sounds minipulative, dangerous and cunning now I dont know what mental health issues she had but it sounds more like she had these problems because of constant abuse and minipulation not only is this man being a creep but he is trying to scare you into not going. on a final note i would like to point out it comes down to what you want most if you really dont feel safe going have a little side ceremony for her and invite the family that way you can pay respects and still be polite but avoid him if you feel like your brave enough and or like you are willing to go then by all means go and dont give him the time of day.
