Why does my ex still refer me as his partner?

He broke up with me three years ago. I know he still has a lot of love for me. Recently I saw him refer me as "his partner" and posted a picture of something I gave him few years ago after he broke up with me. He has me blocked everywhere, but I looked at his page through a burner account and saw he still refers me this way.

Don't cling to mixed signals from someone who chose to leave. If he truly wanted you, you wouldn’t be blocked

How do I know this? I literally explained. We still keep in contact through emails except for social media and I was curious because he tells me he has hope of being in a relationship with me again in the future. So out of curiosity I looked at his page.
