Why does my ex not refer to me as his ex?

I dated someone for a month but then we went on a break and then to just being friends but when I asked him he said he didn’t refer to me as his ex at all so I’m kinda confused on why he doesn’t see me as an ex rather that just a “friend”?

Just because you dated for a month, that doesn't mean he invested deep emotions in you. He may have just been exploring to see if potential existed and didn't see what he was looking for. That's not a judgment of you, but a statement of his preferences. Never assume others are invested, just because you feel invested. If you agree to be a foster parent for an infant for one month, you won't refer to that infant as your ex-child.
