Ex calls me by his old nickname for me?

I dated someone for a few months and he's now good friends with another guy friend of mine... Whenever I come up, he uses the nickname he called me when we were still dating. I'm pretty sure he's dating someone new and I think it's kind of strange. Does it mean anything?

It was a "pet name," basically the shortened equivalent of my full name in Spanish.

can be difficult not to, to him that is your name, it's all that he's called you so it can be difficult to shake.. if it's something lovey then it could be an issue though
