When the courts say "What's in the best interest of the child," do they mean, "What's in the best interest of the mother"?

Why do the courts go so lenient on mothers? No matter what the mother does. the courts bend over backwards for the mother.

The judicial system has been notoriously more lenient on women in general for many decades. It’s slowly changing now because their have been too many blatantly obvious dead beat mothers out there who abused that.

With that said there is supposedly a stronger bond between a mother and her child vs. a father and his child given she got pregnant and delivered her kid. She supposedly values the child more then her own life. Think of the king Solomon story of the two women fighting over a child about who was the real mother. Solomon said “we can cut the child in two and so you each get half”. One woman said “go ahead and do it” and the other said “she can have the child”. But Solomon then knew immediately who the real mother was. It was the woman who didn’t want see her child get harmed even if she lost custody of the child.

But something is going on with modern mothers in our secular society. They are now being told to “find themselves” which includes putting their own lives above their children. For example how often do you see fathers being okay with their kids undergoing “trans” surgeries? It’s usually woke leftist mothers who support that heinous insanity to so they can have “woke optics”.

Of course that is what they mean. People with 3 years of law school are not qualified or competent to decide what is in a child's best interests, but they sure know about money. Courts will *delete* a father from a child's life if it means more money for mom.

Depends on the court if there is corruption such as sexual favors or money among other things like that it could be a issue. Other times some people just tend to be more sympathetic to the mother.

But this all really depends I’ve seen mothers and fathers have their asses handed to them in court.

No it's in best interest of the child (ren). The goal is to not change their routine as much as possible. If mum is the one getting the kids up in the morning, fed, bathing, taking to and from school, doing homework, making dinner, taking to extra curriculars/ sports then it's in the best interest of the child (ren) to stay with the mother. Their world is already being flipped upside-down, changing their routine would make it much harder to adjust to the new normal.

The courts do seem to lean towards the mother’s wellbeing. Maybe since the world is upside down now. Things might go in favor of the children. One can only hope!

They're not always lenient on the mother and the really mean in the best interest of the child they ca care less about anyone else and I love that cause someone has to fight for the kids cause they can't fight for themselves

I have my own data points collected in my own divorce and fight over child custody, and hundreds of others collected in my years of custody evaluations.

@slatyb I don't believe there is a bit of truth in you. A study of all divorce-custody decrees in Arlington County, Virginia over an 18 month period found that no father was given sole or even joint custody unless the mother agreed to it.

@Kelley1 And that is because the amount of child support women get is a function of how much custody they have, and they generally want all of it.

Men do not get child support or alimony even though legally they are entitled to it.
