Do most mother in laws always choose their son’s side over his wife’s?

I’m wondering because of a situation going on with my mom and dad. Even when I talk with my grandma she seems to always defend my dad saying that he’s tired and stuff when I asked her why didn’t she tell him to help me clean up the dog pee she told me that he was too fat to get up and worked too much I was like oh my God 😂 . It’s funny I didn’t realize this until now i’m so late. My grandma is a sweetheart and hilarious but damn she always is choosing his side even over me damn

You may not be used to this since your mom tends to side against you more often than with you.

But let me tell you, my mother wouldn't side against me even if I commit a crime. And most people I know can say the same.

But we also have a saying "only grandkids are dearer than kids" so basically grandparents will side with their grandkids even over their own kids. My grandma was like that for sure (but then again I was her first grandson and by far her favorite) still was overwhelming with how much she loved me and took care of me.

Part of generational fun is busting chops. I remember when my brother and I were kids, and my Father would tell us to do something, our Grandfather would tell us, "You don't have to listen to him. He doesn't know what he's talking about." My Father used to do that with my son. I'm sure I'll do that with my grandkids. It's funny as hell. Of course every family is different.

But isn’t your grandmother your grandmother? I mean your dad is your dad she wasn’t siding with him against the other side of the family she was just siding with him period. I suppose it depends on the person. I’ve seen mother in laws jump to defense of the daughter in law when the son in law was being a 💩 🧠 I think your grandmother is always gonna side with you dad I think Nathan’s mon will prob dude with him given her kinda cold behavior but we never know 😌

Not my MIL. She adores my husband, but she takes my side. I mean, we've never gone to her with marital issues. It's just silly everyday kind of stuff. Her famous line to my husband was, "Without her, you have nothing!" 😁😁😁😁

Yes, it's hard when the care of one dog is placed on one person
and yes a lot of times mothers-in-law take their son's side I know
a lot of stuff I never told my maternal and paternal grandparents
how bad my Dad would verbally abuse me and my sister and Mom
well my Dad is 80 years old have not seen him since the Summer of
2019 he was in the car and my sister was in the store but I just wish
when people have siblings don't verbally abuse them cause it's terrible

Not always. My mother-in-law has taken my side a few times. Usually happens when my husband is being an idiot, which doesn’t happen very often, thankfully.
