Recently someone said I am weak, meek and unintelligent because I had to beg my cheating ex to leave me. Would you say this is true? How would someone go about building character to face men that can try to manipulate you if you try to leave them. He would take away my car for example, he would say he would make up lies about me if I left. I feel like anyone in my shoes would have felt weak and disarmed.

Yeah, I’d say that’s pretty weak. Mainly because begging him to leave you means you don’t have the strength or willpower to do it on your own.
