Ex behaviours on socials?

I dated this guy for about a month then for some reason I felt he was pulling away but he offered no reason or explanation as to why. I tried to have that hard conversation to solve the issue but he kept delaying the time of his reply. This didn’t help my anxiety over the situation so I even thought it was really hard. I ended it for my own peace of mind. After a month I did watch his story just to see what he was getting up to.
But that was once and done.
Now he watches mine. So what does it mean when a guy you broke up with watches your IG story months after ending it? He hasn’t removed me off the hinge list either (where we met) and he still follows me on socials.

Your situation is not uncommon. Many, many people who broke up with somebody will later on down the road start watching them on social media. It has happened to me as well. I can't say it has any positive meaning in it, because these exes will often watch you on social media forever yet never say anything. They're just curious to see what you're doing or if you moved on with someone else. Or to see if you're still single and if it's an opportunity for them to try to walk back into your life.

I had to end this over text because I felt his energy drifting and he never expressed why. I didn’t want to but it was for my own mental health.
Ideally would love for him to try and reach out, but no if it’s gonna be more of the same. What should I do to prompt this or shall I just leave it and post if I am potentially dating someone else?
I’m afraid this might also drive him away.

So if he was already drifting away then he lost interest, but of course after you ended it, the No Contact thing kicked in where it drew him to want to see what's going on with you on social media.

My advice would be not to reach out. Let him be the one to do it if he really wants to, because you want him to show that he's really interested in reconnecting. And I wouldn't post a new dating partner just yet, if it all. We have to be careful with showing our love life on social media. I never show the women I've dated. I prefer to keep that private. And even if it's to make him jealous, don't do it. Just let him reconnect naturally if he's really serious about it.
