+1 yIt's not a turn off for me because I'm socially awkward and I know what it's like to be socially awkward. I wouldn't mind it if a guy is socially awkward too.
I think most people who aren't socially awkward would be turned off by someone who's socially awkward (depending on how socially awkward) cause people are usually attracted to someone of a similar wavelength and being socially awkward is considered a bad thing07 Reply- +1 y
If you say socially awkward one more time...
Asker+1 yI always thought opposites attract? I guess that isn't true?
- +1 y
In the physical traits, opposites do sometimes attract. But for personality, opposites rarely attract.
Asker+1 ySo someone skinny is attracted to someone overweight?
- +1 y
Sometimes
I seen couples where one is skinny and the other is fat, but weight is a highly controllable trait
Asker+1 yThat's true, I do always see the very short girl and very tall guy couple. So I guess that's what you mean by physical traits.
Asker+1 yBy the way, since you said you are socially awkward, then are you more attracted to socially awkward guys than non socially awkward guys?

I'll be honest, socially awkward guys may not have a ton of girls going gaga over them.
You'll always have a girl who'll find you cute and develop a true relationship with you.
Awkwardness is cute and humorous, but just don't lower your self esteem.
Be confident in it.😀😀😀00 Reply
+1 yYeah, if you are not confident to do your things.
It doesn’t mean you have to be loud or approach everyone, but just the people you like or admire, etc.
If you are at home, lonely, and wanting friends, but can’t get any, then that’s a turn off because it means you are not trying.10 Reply
Yes. It means you are not comfortable with yourself and you are too much on your head thinking about what to say or do.
With girls you must have an "I don't give a fuck about what others think or say about me" attitude + have an abundance mentality00 Reply
No, but it certainly not something I would value either. In essence the trait doesn't mean much to me.

+1 yIt depends on the guy with me. If I think he's cute and we have things in common/we can enjoy each others presence, I don't think it's a huge deal, and it's actually really cute :)

+1 yAround people you don't know well? No, I do the same thing. If you're not awkward around the one girl that matters it shouldn't be an issue.

+1 yNot to me. I'm socially awkward as well. We'd just be awkward together. lol there's different types of people. Some will be fine with it, some won't.

00 ReplyIt depends on who you ask but i prefer awkward boys because i think its adorable when they blush 😳
00 ReplyI think so. I had guys who would belittle me just because of it.
00 ReplyOf course it is cuz you’re not being yourself people are awkward when they aren’t comfortable you can be a confident nerd who doesn’t fit into some girls view of what a guy should be

I'm confident with who I am and I don't care what anybody thinks about me but I'm socially awkward. I don't like meeting new people or talking to people I don't know well. I find it very uncomfortable and I tend to avoid uncomfortable situations. I'm also not good when it comes to conversating with other people.
- +1 y
@ZombieKiller666 If you're finding it uncomfortable, clearly there's some anxiety going on there which probably stems from a lack of confidence.
- +1 y
I'm uncomfortable because I don't trust the person not because I lack confidence.
- +1 y
@ZombieKiller666 It's just a conversation, why do you need to trust them? No one can trust someone they've just met, trust is built over time.
- +1 y
I have major trust issues. Even the people I have known a long time including my family I can't completely trust them because of what my parents did. And if I can't trust my family how can I trust a complete stranger. But this is just me not every other woman out there.
- +1 y
@ZombieKiller666 I understand that, but that's not the point. You don't need to trust someone in order to talk to them. No one can trust someone whom they've just met.
- +1 y
The point is being socially awkward doesn't mean you're not confident. Being socially awkward means that you're shy when meeting new people or felt uncomfortable when around people outside of your immediate family.
- +1 y
@ZombieKiller666 'you're shy' - You've said it yourself.
Looks up synonyms for shy and you'll find ' fearful, apprehensive, nervous, hesitant, reluctant, doubting, insecure, wary, suspicious, chary, UNCONFIDENT, inhibited' - +1 y
Yes I'm shy and socially awkward, but I am confident with what I say, with my body and who I am. With everything about me I am confident. I could not care less what anybody else says about me. Just because I'm socially awkward it does not mean that I am not confident. Maybe that is for other women but that's not me.
- +1 y
Confidence is something you exude from every pore. You can't just have partial confidence.
- +1 y
@ZombieKiller666 There's more to confidence then just being confident in who you are as a person. I don't doubt that you're not self confident. However there is also social confidence, the confidence to communicate with others and not being afraid to speak up.. That's the confidence in which you're lacking clearly... A lot of people do, I certainly used to.
Well if he can keep the conversation going I wouldn't consider him socially awkward.
