Are you considered a social misfit/socially awkward by others? If so, how do people treat and act around you?

I am a good/great guy to talk with but the problem is, that my social behaviour is being perceived different by others because I am kinda shy and distant. I wish I could tell them that but the chemistry is unbalanced which makes it harder.

I am still seeing things positive because anyone will meet their match one day. Some aspects in life may take longer than other things like owning your first appartement, a car, a college degree.

I am very shy but I am quite outgoing and cheerful around people I know well. People just treat like I'm not there since I'm very quiet.

I'm considered awkward by my "family" and I was also considered a social misfit when I was in school. They basically mocked me.

I guess most people would consider me awkward. I’m not awkward around my friends who know me really well, but people who don’t like me, or many times guys make me feel super awkward.
