Getting married but still in love with my ex?

Im getting married this year, we've been together 2 years. He's a good guy, a doctor, but lives far away, we will be forced into a long distance marriage, and he has a bad temper and is sometimes toxic. I was with my ex for 7 years since we were children but broke up bc he couldn't fight his mom to marry me. I stopped waiting for him and ended things. I regret leaving but I also ended up cheating on him during the end of the 7 years (never told him) so I had to leave. (I'm a bitch, asshole, that's another story and lesson" He's a doctor too, shorter distance, but sometimes too passive, never fought. I cry about him and the what if I waited a month or two longer and I'd be with him. He has my heart, forever. My best friend who I haven't spoken to in 2 years. Will the pain ever go away? I'm not over my ex but im happy with my fiancé. it feels so confusing.

Why was your ex letting his mom decide if the two of you could be together? Both of these guys sound like bad choices.

I dont know he didn't want to be a doctor either but his mom told him to do, so now he is

Even if you’d stayed with him longer, his mom would continue causing problems in your relationship. If there had been a marriage, things would probably even escalate. Best to get out of that situation.

And the current guy seems to have way too many bad qualities. Anger problems, toxic, and on top of that, it would be a long-distance relationship? Sounds like some horrible times ahead. I see no reason to continue on that path.
