Karen Read was tried for murder in the death of her boyfriend, a Boston cop. It was alleged that she ran over him and left him for dead one winter's night at a drunken party. She was found not guilty for those charges and was convicted only of a DUI charge. The car sustained damage to the rear where it was alleged that she hit him.

I remember reading a story of a young couple that bought a house that the sellers knew was haunted. There's no law that says the sellers have to disclose that info, unless they're specifically asked. The young couple sued them to get their money back and ended up winning due to a clause in the contract. The contract said the house had to be left "unoccupied" by the date given. Since the previous owners already said it was haunted, the didn't fulfill their part of the contract. Very clever! People still say that due to that court case, ghost's have been legally recognized as existing.

My boyfriend died in the apartment next to mine and I still live in the building. I kinda get freaked out whenever I have to pass by apartment #213, the apartment he died in while doing a favor for the resident who had just moved out. He was cleaning the apartment for a quadriplegic man and that's why he was alone when he died in there.
I have a hard time getting into the elevator here too, because that was the very last place he was before the medical examiner drove off with him.
I didn't even get to say goodbye because he died suddenly.
Someone else lives in #213 now.

Where I have my vacation home there was a very nice house that was across the street from the ocean. The woman that owned i was killed by her son. This was about the same time I was looking to buy a place there. I watched to see if this place would be sold at a fire sale price because of the history but alas it was still out of my price range.
I would have bought it for the right price..

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I remember talking to a woman that lost her husband suddenly, she lived upstairs from me. I was there when rescue came and then left with him. He died later that night. The woman told me when she called the landlord to tell him, the first words he said were, "please tell me he didn't die in the apartment." Can you believe that? I've always wondered what's worse/better, someone dying suddenly, without the chance to tell them what they mean to you or watching someone die a slow death. Again, sorry for your loss, Sage.

@Twodogs0525 I had a friend that lived in my town. He bought a house where somebody died. He told me that by law the realtor had to disclose this fact. My friend bought the house anyway.

Yes, I think most states require disclosure about murders. Just like Amityville, the Lutz's knew a family had been slaughtered in the home but bought for basically half off lmao. I guess it had been sitting empty for over a year.
