If its a street sell... Id have a mechanic look at it. Make sure the mechanic runs connects it to a computer. And see if the can lifted up to look underneath make sure there wasn't any tampering with the frame and check for rusting. Also while test driving it before you start take a note of the miles on it and then drive it for over an hour make certain the mileage does change my father who's a mechanic has come across a few cars and after driving it for 2 miles never changed in numbers.
Just be careful Hispanic guy, people are more desperate for money now than ever. Be very cautious of what your buying. Faults can be covered. People will be more tempted to cover them more now than ever.
Ask to see all maintenance records. People who take good care of a car usually keep meticulous records. I've done so for every car I've owned.
Ask why they are selling it and the answer had better come quick and be acceptable.
Take it to a mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection. Costs about $100 to $150.
Get a carfax report.
I would go to carfax dot com. Under the "Used car values" tab you can enter the car sellers Zip Code and the car's VIN. It will give you the value based on that car's history for free.
I don't know what your income is, but keep in mind that an Audi would probably require or strongly recommend premium fuel, and these days that's...$$$$

At that price, I'd *definitely* make sure to have a mechanic come with you to check everything out; even if you know enough to tell by yourself, a hundred bucks or so for a second set of eyes seems a very worthy investment. Most mobile mechanic services will have it as an option, if you don't hawe a dedicated guy.
Take a mechanic with you to do an inspection. Also ask to see the maintenance and service records. If the pictures show the reg. number, put that into a site like webuyanycar. com and compare their valuation to the dealer's valuation.

That's a more than reasonable price. I'd do a complete car history and make sure it hasn't been in an accident or flood. Then, as with any used car, have a qualified mechanic do a pre-purchase check to make sure it's a good deal.
Always do an ECU scan.
