It’s healthiest to allow yourself to grieve and feel.

If the person meant anything to you then you should feel something when it ends. And with time things get less heavy. I let myself heal at a healthy pace so that I can be my authentic happy self again in the end.

It’s better to leave a relationship that you know isn’t going anywhere either wasting years with the wrong person or worse getting married…. And then a nasty divorce later.

Sure, relationships have their problems in some cases if both people are willing to put the effort in and love one another enough. They can make it work. In other cases people need to just leave peacefully and go their separate ways.

This is why marriage should take time I’m not saying waste ten years with someone. But married in a year or less for me personally. Ehhhhh…. Some people get too desperate. Some people also fall in love genuinely but realize later they really aren’t a good fit. It’s bad when people fall for a image they projected on someone and become very resentful later down the road. Men and women are both equally guilty of this.

The reason to split is that you have determined that staying together is unhealthy. There is a wound and Being around each other is just causing the wound to get worse.

The only way to heal is to not be around the other person anymore. That is the reason you are leaving. Just get it done, break up and get back to healing before getting into another relationship.

If it's dead or dying, just kill it. There's no point in continuing a relationship that you know is ending. I have never gone into a relationship expecting it to last, but I also intend to make the most of it while it lasts. However, if something is ending, I won't fight to keep it going.
