My ex likes all the pictures a mutual friend of ours posts of me but never any other pictures… is he trying to hurt me or what could this mean?

An ex is an ex for a good reason and he must have hurt you for you to want to separated.

We don't know under which conditions this breakup occurred and if it was not respectful, then yes, it could mean that he is trying to get back at you in a way or another.

But the simple fact to just like a few pictures and not the others does not lead me to believe that he is deliberately trying to hurt you. I find it bizarre though, that he only likes some of those pictures and not all of them.

I don't think that there is too much to worry about that.
