How do you typically end relationships?

I hold on too long, even when I know it’s not working.

I take time to process, then move on with peace.

I might end it suddenly or push them away before they can hurt me.

I detach early, so the ending doesn’t hit as hard.

@LiamJHayden I ended mines the same way. Once I clocked that it’s no longer working out rather it’s suddenly in the moment or the realization after a long while, I would respectfully and kindly end things. I tend to not prolong things as soon as I am fully aware it’s not working out or there’s no future.


I guess you can it’s typically easy for me to walk away from someone once I know it’s not for me rather it’s talking phase, dating phase, or relationship phase.

Haha literally all the above. With my longest relationship, it took me and him way too long to eventually end it. It wasn't working for a while but neither of us wanted to be alone so we held on longer than necessary. We were so comfortable with each other.

Quietly and with dignity. I’ll just call a halt to things and walk away. Give him back his stuff and not even worry about taking back my stuff. I just want my peace of mind.

I dont really end them its more like we grow apart instead of grow together and well it ends itself with us both slowly drifting apart. I picked the last option. I dont want relationship to end, no one does but change is inevitable...

I detach a few months before the actual break up so that I’m calm and collected when it comes time to give the ‘break up speech’, rather than being an emotional wreck who backs out of it.

There is no typical way I can notice in my (not so long) history, and I don't think I can say that my ways are really my own. Because each person, relation, dynamic is different...
