How do you end a relationship with someone you actually love?

He’s not a bad person at all and I love him more than anything, but I just notice a difference between us this past year or two. Plus I think I’m finding something out about myself and I just am so confused in life now. I don’t want to hurt him, because he has said he wouldn’t be here without me, but I just can’t find the words or the balls to tell him. I don’t want to hurt him at all, but I don’t want to miss out on my true happiness. Please any advice is appreciated 🥺💗

Hmmm so it seems like you love him as a person and value him in your life but you don't love him as a significant other. Those feelings seem to be gone for whatever reason. What you need to tell him is exactly what you told us. You still care about him a lot but you just don't feel that you two are meant for eachother. at least right now.( be careful saying at least right now cause then it might give him hope that you'll get back together and then he might not move on)

It's very possible that you guys, in your view just aren't meant to be and that's okay. There's no reason you guys can't still be okay. That you guys can't still be there for eachother. People seem to think breaking up means worst case scenario and a bad situation and people hating eachother. And that simply is not the case.

However with that being said you can't control how he will handle it. If what he said is true. No matter how softly or hard you break the news to him, there's a chance he's gonna take it bad. I mean he seems to care about you. Imagine if it was someone you loved both as a friend and a love interest and told you they wanna break up. It'll still hurt. But how much longer do you plan to have that thought in the back of your head and fear that you're missing out on who you're truly meant to be? Tell him that too. Tell him that you just need space to grow and find yourself and that Although you care about him a lot you just don't see him as a love Interest. And those feelings just aren't there anymore. And it's not that anything he did it's just how it is. Because he could assume that it's something he did. But just reassure him.

Now here's the part you may not want to hear. Even when you do break up, if you do try to be there for him or talk to him still. It may be fine for you. But doing so won't exactly help him move on either. I mean how could he if you're still in his life. I'm not saying what to do I'm just telling you to keep that in mind buddy
