Does my ex want to work things out, or does he miss having me around?

My ex and I been going out off and on for 10 months and I broke up with him in February of this year. I broke up with him because he was very disrespectful towards me. He would call me out my name for no reason, he would cheat and he would lie. when I always try to get clarification on how he actually felt about me, he would avoid the question, he would get mad and not answer it. I also want to add that when we break up he would usually say sorry and I take him back and he told me that it don’t matter what he do that I will always be there. That always stuck with me and after I broke up with him February of this year, he tried to get me back in March by doing a simple apology thinking that I’m gonna take him back like I did the other times I didn’t and he would do little things not over the top but little things to try to help me out, but I’m still not taking him back. I don’t know if he missed the convenience of me or if he’s actually really sorry what do y’all guys think? I know I should know the answer to this already, but I wanna hear a everyone perspective.

People can feel genuine regret after a breakup. But feeling sorry and actually changing are two different things. I would take anything he says too seriously.

Exes are exes for a reason. He put himself in the situation he's in. You don't mistreat something or someone who you value. Erase him and move on.
