My relationship with him wasn’t the healthiest because I was still caught in an on-and-off situation with my ex, which lasted almost a year. I know I hurt him, and although I could’ve handled things better, it was a difficult situation for me too.
Eventually, I broke up with him because I was mentally exhausted, needed to heal, and felt I wasn’t good for him. But when he started dating someone new, I crashed. I realized I still loved him and wanted him back, so I spent two months trying, crying, and begging, but he preferred to remain friends, which I understand.
What hurt most wasn’t just seeing him with someone else, but losing my best friend too. We used to talk, call, watch things together, and have so much fun with our friends. When his new girlfriend asked him to stop talking to me because I still had feelings for him, everything changed. I left our group chat because I couldn’t handle seeing them together, and now I feel like I’ve lost my friends too.
Looking back, I wish I had communicated better instead of pushing him away. I still miss him and our friends terribly. I’m not trying to get him back romantically anymore; I just want my best friend and my friends back. I can’t stop thinking about them, and the emptiness is unbearable.
