One or the other, not both. You wake up tomorrow to get bad news. Either your partner is cheating on you and plans to leave, or they are dead.
No matter what, they will never be a part of your life again.
So would you rather learn that your love is cheating on you or that they are dead?

Man, those are two shitty choices. I think I would rather the hypothetical love of my life cheat than be dead. There’s nothing I can do about death but be miserable, depressed, and want to die, too. If she cheated I wouldn’t want to die, I would be really pissed and probably turn the guy’s head into a piñata. If I get my ass kicked then I’m going back for a rematch. If I lose again and live then I’ll send him to hell.

There is nothing you can do either way. That’s the whole point. You might want to fight for your woman, but you can’t. Either way she is gone, never to return. There is no revenge to be had. Just you, your loss and whatever acceptance you can muster, if any at all.
