Ex girlfriend doesn't want to be friends?

Starting off I'm not obsessed or anything I've moved on and now into another relationship. But me and my friend are arguing about how this translates in a women's mind and I want to be right, I know I have better things I should be doing lol.

Me and my live in ex girlfriend of 2 years broke up 4 months ago. We havn't talked in about 3 months. I still think she's fun to talk to and hang out with so I texted her when I was out the other night "We should be friends you should come out!" I got this:

'Glad you're having fun. At this time I have no interest in being friends. I just want to be left alone.'

I took that as a polite way of saying: I don't want to be your friend. Stop bothering me.

My friend says that she's still deciding if she wants to know me but she needs more space and time.

I'm right?

Yes, I would say you're right. If she wanted to be friends she would have said so in the message. Three months is a long time not to talk and by then I'm pretty sure she would have moved on and decided whether she wanted to be your friend or not. Maybe there is still hope though, she did say "at this time" so maybe in the future she will see that she misses your company and will want to pursue a friendship with you.

Sounds like she was dumped. Honestly, to me it sounds like your new relationship isn't so hot, otherwise she wouldn't even cross your mind. The "at this time" is referring to that. She might consider being a so-called "friend" when the other person is out of the picture. That's my best interpretation. Clearly, she is not over it.
